Gaming anew

With the lockdown in place, I have to find things to do at home. I’ve been neglecting my gaming for a while now. When I checked Uncharted 3 on my PS4, I played it last two years ago. Such a long time…

I found a voucher for a month of Xbox Game Pass for Console in TradeMe. Since the price was reasonable enough I got one. This should help me tide up the boredom for a month.

I downloaded the usual big franchises: Forza Horizon 4, NBA 2K20 and Ace Combat 7. Loved playing them. At least for a while. Don’t get me wrong. The games are brilliant! Except for NBA 2K20 I guess. The graphics seemed stuck in the 90s. No big improvements there. Forza was great! The handling and the graphics are excellent. Ace Combat was cool as well. I remembered playing my first Ace Combat on the OG PlayStation. Such fond memories…

But after some time I got tired of them. Though excellent, they didn’t bring anything new. Even with a glossier finish, it’s the same formula.

I then tried this other game I’ve downloaded. I’ve seen this on the PS Store before but missed checking it out. But this time, I have a lot more hours so I decided to play it.

Everyone is hiding and that the illness in
the town is contagious…

Wow, that’s all I can say after playing through the first chapter of A Plague Tale: Innocence. This game has brought me out of my gaming rut. It has brought a great sense of thrill and suspense that I have never felt in a game for a long time.

The graphics is excellent! The environment is immersive, the music and sounds are top-notch and the characters are alive. For Vikings fans, the History Channel show, Amicia’s accent reminded me of the French King’s daughter’s accent.

The stealth aspects of the show is very well-made. You can feel the intensity of the moment as you try to sneak amongst the guards and while you are trying to outrun the townsfolk. This is a great gaming experience for me.

Okay, I’ll stop for now. You can check out the launch trailer above then download the game either from the PlayStation Store or from Xbox One Games page.

For me, I’ll be moving on. To Chapter 2.
