REVIEW: Knives Out

Being in a lockdown gives me ample opportunities to catch up on movies and shows. Last night, we watched Knives Out. Directed by Rian Johnson (whom Star Wars fans will surely know) with a great ensemble cast that includes Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon and Christopher Plummer.

The Phantom of the Opera, 25th Anniversary

Thanks to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s YouTube channel, The Shows Must Go On!, we were able to watch the 25th Anniversary of The Phantom of the Opera held at the Royal Albert Hall. Sadly, as of this writing, it’s no longer available since the shows are just up for 48 hours.

Big Boys Toys 2019

Big Boys Toys is NZ’s annual iconic lifestyle show and my friend and I has been attending this event each year. I’m not sure if this year’s event will be cancelled due to COVID-19. Hopefully not.

Office 365 will be Microsoft 365

For most, this bit of news might just fly under their radar, but for me it’s the end of an era. I’ve been a long-time user of this product, from way back in 1995. It was called Office 95 then. Running on my then brand new Windows 95. It was a game changer for me. Lockdown should help us to be more appreciative

How true the old adage that goes, “You don’t know what you have until it’s gone.” This hits hard more so now since we’re in a lockdown. All that we have taken for granted before, we miss so much today. As simple as going out and enjoying the day with friends, we can’t do now. Going to McDonald’s to order a quarter pounder, we can’t do now. Watching movies on the big screen, we can’t do now.

Wall-E Earth Day Funko Pop!

Ever since watching Wall-E, he has become one of my favorite Disney Pixar characters. Even without much dialog, I really enjoyed this precautionary tale. I can see it coming true nowadays with more and more people being glued to their devices all day. But at its core, it’s a love story between two androids, Wall-E and the aptly-named EVE.

Missing the cinema

One of the things I miss since the lockdown started is going to the cinema. I’m a big cinephile and I make it a point to watch every big release on the big screen. Since I was a kid, going to the cinema is something I take seriously. When I like the movie, I’m totally glued to the screen. No bathroom breaks and popcorn munching for me. I try to catch each and every dialog for each and every scene. I can only relax after the movie. That’s how serious of a movie watcher I am.
