Auckland Lockdown Part Two

Since the 12th of August, Auckland is back at Alert 3 and back in lockdown. Sadly, there are now community transmissions and everyone is concerned again about COVID-19. Good thing we were able to take advantage of the previous weeks and we were able to go eat at our favorite restaurants and were able to even go to Christchurch to attend a wedding. All of that are gone again. Due to the negligence of a few, many are affected again.

Lockdown should help us to be more appreciative

How true the old adage that goes, “You don’t know what you have until it’s gone.” This hits hard more so now since we’re in a lockdown. All that we have taken for granted before, we miss so much today. As simple as going out and enjoying the day with friends, we can’t do now. Going to McDonald’s to order a quarter pounder, we can’t do now. Watching movies on the big screen, we can’t do now.

Missing the cinema

One of the things I miss since the lockdown started is going to the cinema. I’m a big cinephile and I make it a point to watch every big release on the big screen. Since I was a kid, going to the cinema is something I take seriously. When I like the movie, I’m totally glued to the screen. No bathroom breaks and popcorn munching for me. I try to catch each and every dialog for each and every scene. I can only relax after the movie. That’s how serious of a movie watcher I am.
